How are you losing weight? Any tips???
Since this anon mentioned it, I have been losing weight. In fact, I can say that I am technically no longer plus size, as my size 11 bottoms are now too big after a month and I will have to go buy size 9 bottoms very soon.
I have an illness which limits a lot of the foods I can eat, so I can’t have citrus, caffeine, rich and fatty type of foods or else I will vomit. Although I don’t wish this on anyone, it has helped change my life by changing what I eat and my habits.
I eat a lot more things that are healthy and try to eat 3 small meals with 2 snacks through out the day. I don’t do any hardcore exercise (although I should, I’m starting to get loose skin which is common with people who lose weight rapidly), just stretches and going on walks after I eat. I also tend to park really far when I go out to places, so I get a couple of extra steps in through the day. Those little things add up :)
Cooking for yourself is pretty important, because then you can control what you are putting into your food. Making soups (like chicken matzo ball soup) is easy to make and very affordable to do… plus it’s very healthy if you don’t add too many carbs and take away most of the fat. For breakfast I make “refrigerator oatmeal” with rolled oats, chia seeds, greek yogurt, and almond milk as the base and change up the flavors depending on what’s available. What I enjoy is using that base and adding in bananas, a little bit of honey and a little bit of nutella. Since I’m not a big breakfast eater to begin with I don’t eat too much of it, and the oatmeal keeps me feeling full so I don’t tend to eat too much later at lunch. Which usually consists of a small salad with a side of fruit. I tend to eat more at dinner, and additionally it’s helpful if you eat before 8pm.
Also I found that it’s OK to have drinks with sugar, but make sure you don’t go too crazy with it! I usually tend to drink water, coconut water or Vitamin Water XXX (regular, not Zero). The Vitamin Water (XXX flavor specifically, since my body doesn’t react negatively to it) has a lot of the nutrients I lose from the foods I can’t eat but has a lot of sugar in it… so what I tend to do is drink only half the bottle for one day and either dilute it with regular water or save the rest for the next day.
I don’t claim to be an expert or anything, but this is just what I have been doing to help me!
tl;dr?
- Eat 3 small meals with 2 snacks in the day, don’t eat past 8pm.
- Eating foods that fill you up (like wheat and oats) will help you eat less throughout the day.
- Make your own food, so you control what you put into it.
- The little habits you create can help you, like parking your car far away from where you need to be and walking extra or walking after meals.
- It’s okay to have drinks with sugar, but limit it to only one or half of one per day and try to drink more natural things like coconut water or regular water.
